AHCL Systems: a technological innovation for Diabetes Management
Advanced Hybrid Closed-Loop (AHCL) systems represent the latest technological advance in the treatment of type 1 diabetes and consist of three components: a control algorithm, an insulin pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). AHCL systems are capable of automatically delivering insulin, adjusting to rising and falling requirements, and delivering automatic correction boluses as needed, based on glucose predictions derived from continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Treatment with AHCL systems improves glycaemic variability, reduces the frequency of hypoglycaemia and significantly increases the time spent within the target range. Furthermore, it helps to reduce the burden of daily diabetes management, thereby improving quality of life.

- A 30-minute predictive algorithm that automatically increases or decreases insulin delivery based on expected blood glucose trends and, if needed, provides automatic correction boluses.
- Automatic bolus system in case of missed bolus or inaccurate carbohydrate counting.
- Ability to manage a temporary basal rate even in auto-mode in case of changed temporary basal needs.
- Extended bolus up to 8 hours to better manage complex meals.
- Ability to benefit from the “Sleep Activity” and “Exercise Activity” functions to manage nighttime rest and physical activity better.
- Bolus delivery button located directly on the insulin pump (in the event that the mobile app is not available)

Tandem Mobi Mobile App
An app that makes managing diabetes easier: using your smartphone, you can fully manage the Mobi pump’s functions and settings, including delivering or canceling boluses, viewing pump data, and receiving push notifications with complete discretion. In addition, treatment data is automatically uploaded wirelessly to the Tandem Source platform, eliminating the need to download data at the clinic. Diabetes management thus becomes less intrusive, reducing mental burden and improving adherence to treatment.
